Pros and Cons of Being a Full-time Content Creator
Everything in life has trade-offs. I absolutely LOVE being a full-time YouTuber and content creator, but, it hasn't come with its own problems.
Watch the video below to hear the scariest thing that happened to me so far.
Pros & Cons
Visibility:
As your popularity grow on YouTube, you will start bumping into people in the real world that know you. Most of the time, these people will be awesome, but sometimes there will be people who don't know their boundaries.
For example, at one of my live events, I had an older gentleman who was a bit more touchy feely than any woman would like. He not only made me uncomfortable, but also other women in the group.
Fortunately, the rest of the students were so amazing.
Fans:
Growing and audience can be one of the most rewarding parts of YouTube. You get to make real connections with real people. Unfortunately, there are some people who want to make connections beyond the screen.
I had one guy who called me multiple times on my phone and left me 5 very long and crazy messages. I went onto YouTube, and much of the madness was the same. I blocked him on both YouTube and my phone.
Freedom:
With a growing YouTube audience can come growing revenue too. Especially if you play your cards right like I teach in my course. YouTube provides a lot of flexibility in scheduling which can provide a nice work-life balance.
For many, they work long hours in the beginning, so freedom doesn't happen until much later in the journey. Not only that, YouTube is not a passive income stream. You need to constantly be creating new content or your channel will love authority with YouTube and go the way of the dinosaurs. The content grind can wear on some creators and is why building a good team around your business can help you manage overwhelm.
